Original letter/invoice
Following is the original letter/invoice for the transaction of the potato stamps to make the T14 booklet.
("COPY" on image so it may not be duplicated)
The envelopes with the stamps within.
Some of the actual stamps left over from the above inventory. All were issues in booklets, thus the thraight edges on some of the stamps.
This is how the panes look.
These stamps were required for the Potato Act of 1935. On January 6, 1936, the U.S. Supreme Court declared the Act unconstitutional. The stamps were destroyed, however a few had been delivered to Florida and California.
This is the cover page for their 1947 Stamp price list. (Last stamp they offered is Scott 947 issued in in 1947).

Stamp Hinges
Tatham Stamp co. offered three grades of hinges: 1,000 for 10 cents, 1,000 for 15 cents and the best 1,000 for 20 cents.
This is an image of their best for 20 cents. There are no hinges offered today that are completely peelable w/o damage to the stamp! The only peelable hinges w/o damage to the stamp available today are "Dennison" hinges, not made any more, but many times can be found on eBay. They can cost up to $15.00 a pack of 1,000.

Booster Stamps
Little known, is that when the Tasco booklets were being sold to promote the hobby to collectors, Tatham also sold a series of poster stamps to promote the hobby to non-collectors! The hope was that existing collectors would buy these stamps and affix them to their mail with the aim of trying to bring new stamp collectors into the fold! Tatham called these items "Stamp Collector's Booster Stamps". A series of 10 different designs were printed on 5-3/4 x 4-1/4 inch miniature sheetlets. The sheetlets were issued on 5 different colors of paper for a total of 50 different varieties.Two of each sheetlet were then stacked, folded, and all 10 sheetlets(100 stamps) were crammed into a small 5-1/2 x 3 inch craft envelope.

TATHAM'S Check list
This little booklet was given out to stamp collectors with the idea that they would check off the stamps they had in their US collection and Tatham would send them on approval those they didn't.

Tannu Tuva
Center of Asia!!
Very nice set of 1935 Tannu Tuva Zoological Stamps, all of which are uncanceled. They came hinged to a display piece from the Tatham Stamp & Coin Co.. The paper display piece, which did not fit entirely on my scanner, has two hole punches along the top edge. The top edge has an offer, for only 25 cents, to order a copy of the display sheet on light card stock and unfolded (this is a thinner stock and was folded when shipped). This offer mentions that it would be perfect for framing and "if you exhibit the stamps on our special unfolded sheet in the manner suggested, you may win valuable exhibition prizes." BTW: If you wanted insurance on the mailing you were to add 10 cents.
This sheet was sent on approval. Price was $1.00
The stamps mounted on the sheet are in Mint condition and perforated.
The back side of the sheet has some pictures of the members of the government and an image of the cover of the New York Times magazine dated Sunday, April 4, 1937 According to the magazine there is a semi-abandoned settlement (see arrow on map) that is the exact center of Asia.
On Approval
This is an approval offering of US Postage Due stamps for 25 cents.
The stamps were never removed from the approval sheet.

The company sent out many approval selections each month. The following is one of the contains of one of those selections.
Below is cover letter included. Looks like they were pushing Christmas seals at the time.
The blank invoice for the stamps that you could purchased. You needed to fill it out. Most all stamp approval co.'s of the day offered a discount if you purchased everything. In this case $2.00 was the price.
This is the back of the invoice. Notice that they are offering Covers from the Franklin D. Roosevelt collection that were auctioned by H.R.Harmer after his death. Priced at $1.00 each or six for $5.00
