What else can I collect?
Stamps that were issued in the year you were born.
This is a suggestion of what to collect from Robert, one of our
viewers.
Collecting stamps can be so expensive. I used to collect only US but every
year it got more and more expensive. The number of new issues kept increasing,
so I just gave up. I decided to form a collection of all the stamps of the
world issued in the year of my birth (1945). The price of most mint stamps
from that year are relatively inexpensive and the variety is more interesting
than just US. I have really enjoyed going through my catalogs and highlighting
the stamps I need. I made my own stamp album using Microsoft Publisher; it
took about 6 months but I had a great time doing it and am quite proud of
the results. Since then, I have found stampalbums.com.. For $20, you can
print album pages for every country in the world. I use acid free card stock
from Staples. Hunting for stamps of your year is fun but not so easy. Seems
I can always find stamps for the year before or after but not my year. If
anyone would like more information, please e-mail me at
anton7413@yahoo.com.
