Hello All,                                                                 October 16, 2006

I was a casual collector for some time(whatever caught my eye) knowing little about what I was doing. I'm 62 years old and due to "degenerative disease of the spine" and arthritis in my joints(especially my hands) I had to take early retirement. Being limited on what I can do but needing something to be active and keep the mind going I decided to upgrade my status a little and become a little more serious about collecting. I browsed most sites for info but found them over my head and more professional than I plan to be. I ventured onto your site and found it to be a wealth of information for this old Marine. I suspect the young people who frequent your site are hands above more knowledgeable at this than I. I liken my collections to a "Charlie Brown xmas tree" but that is fine with me. When I've passed on my collection will probably qualify for the $1.00 buys all in the box at the local auction. :>)

Don't get me wrong, I take pride in my collection and I'm not just throwing it together, but I'm doing this to be active(to control arthritis) and a challenge for the mind. A lot of my stamps would probably get nothing more than snicker from a pro but my ole "put through the mill" stamp has a place and will get the same TLC as a mint Upside Down Jenny would.

Like your site and would recommend it to anyone interested in stamp collecting. Will drop in on occasion to learn more as I go.

Have a great day!

Larry Woller

Hi, I'm 14 and my name is Michelle, I come from England and love stamp collecting, I would like to swap and talk about stamps with other young stamp collectors from around the world. If you feel the same email me at: michelle.sung@ntlworld.com Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for providing such an informative site for beginners! I learned more from your site than I have from talking with anyone. I was discouraged that I could not find ANY book or magazine about stamp collecting at my local bookstores! The only books they had related to the monetary value of stamps - nothing about the hobby of collecting. Creating my collection will be like a work of art but when the beginner does not even know what tools are even available to create with, it gets very frustrating. Of course, those who sell products always strongly recommend what they have to sell as the way to go! I hadn't had the opportunity to even view a stockpage until I saw your site! I have a clearer vision of what I want to do and have certainly bookmarked your site so I can return frequently. Thank you once again for your dedication to a fantastic hobby.

There are numerous Diseny stamps. Many countries issue them. Some portray characters such as Mickey Mouse. I collect animal stamps and many disney stamps show animated animals, so I end up accumulating many disny stamps. One example is a souvenir sheet that I possess that depicts six of the Dalmations from the disney movie "101 dalmations" These stamps were issued in Gambia in 1997.

Six stamps are included in this iue. The puppies pictures are "dipstick", "fidget", "Jewel", "Lucky", "Two-Tone", and "Wizzer". They are shown in different positions, one is scrathcing his ear. In the selvage of the souvenir sheet, there are black spots on a white background like a Dalmation's fur.

The movie "101 Dalamations" is in two froms. One is a cartoon, the other a regular movie. But the regualr movie does have some animated segments when the dogs couldn't do a particular stunt. I enjoy both the movies and the stamps!

Hallo to all young stamp collectors! My name is Corinna, I`m 10 jears old and I love to collect stamps of all countrys. I`m looking for a penpal service to write letters to other young people all over the world and to change stamps. I could offer nice stamps from Germany and GDR. My favorite theme to collect are "natural katastrophies", also Disney and Space. My favorit country to collect is Germany and the Isle Jersey (UK). I´m not jet good in writing or speaking English, because I`m just learning to do it. But my sister (14) and my parents will help me. My hometown here in Germany is called WEIMAR. It`s very famous, because two great german poets lived here for a long time (Goethe and Schiller). Weimar will also be the "European Capitol of Culture in 1999". If there is someone, who would like to write me, please, please do it!

Corinna Lange, Am Horn 17, 99425 Weimar, Germany

I started collecting stamps when I was 10,and I love it.I only had about 15 stamps when I started, but now I have 352 stamps.I've been looking up prices on the internet, but I've only found a few prices of my stamps. My stamp that is worth the most is a, Oliver Wendell Holmes stamp that is worth $10.00.Stamp collectors who are trying to find a price guide for their stamps, keep on looking, because I know how hard it is to find one. Also if you find a stamp that you really like, but it's on a envelope, cut about an inch around the stamp.Place it in lemon water for about 5 minutes.

By for now, Rachel

I am basically in love with stamps. I started collecting when I was 7. It was easy, and it is nice, because you don't have to waste money!! I wonder what it would be like to live in a world MADE of stamps!! Awesome!! I am 10, and looking for an e-mail pal. I also posted some thing on the guestbook, and bulletin board. My e-mail address is: davidaaron@geocities.com

I love this stamp site! I want to get penpals from all around the world. My collection is mostly worldwide but I also have a collection of First Day Covers. I find them interesting to collect.

I just began stamp collecting about two weeks ago. I started with some older duplicates, some newer stamps that came with my album, and some other older ones on paper. So far, I've put most in my album and I hope to finish on Monday. I'm 9 years old, I'm in fifth grade, and I am home-schooled. Nathaniel Pockras my daddy's email address is covvie@bright.net

I entered the contest for October and you wanted to know a little more about me so here goes. I'm a 7th-grader at Fitch Middle School and enjoy reading. I am doing a project for Mr. Welt,a 7th-grade history teacher, on a family called the Barrows. There are a over a hundred letters that I and two other people have to put in chronological order. So far we've found friendly letters from Ella,a family member, to Arthur, her husband. So far I've enjoyed doing all this. Eventually we hope to learn enough to write a biography of Ella. Last year two girls wrote a biography of Florence, Arthur and Ella's daughter. Please tell me a little about what you do. Thank you.
